After about ten years of success, Solopine closed its doors and no longer offers WordPress themes for sale. The consequence is that the duo of creators of Solopine themes are leaving behind thousands of owners of their themes without follow-up or updates for the future.
It turns out that a few months ago, discreetly, WordPress Solopine themes were withdrawn from the market. If you go to Themeforest, you won’t find them anymore. Even if you bought one in the past. The Solopine team has simply decided to stop its activity of creating WordPress themes.
So what are the consequences for owners of Solopine Themes on their WordPress website(s)? What about the people who appreciated and bought these so common WP themes? What about the latest updates?
Solopine WordPress themes in 2023
So it’s official. Solopine WordPress themes have not been offered for sale for several months now. If you like one, it’s too late to download the latest version of Florence, Sitka, Redwood or Oleander.
The fairly massive reign of these themes which began around 2014 until a few months ago has therefore stopped. The Solopine team has also officially communicated on its website with an announcement banner :

It is therefore not a pause, a break or a temporary stop. But the closure of the Solopine store!
What about Solo Pine WordPress theme updates?
Owners of WordPress sites or blogs probably noticed this between 2020 and 2022. Almost no updates were offered, particularly for the majority of WP themes offered via Themeforest.
If you go to ThemeForest and search for one of Solo Pine’s WordPress products, you will see that they are all removed from sale. It is not possible to download a latest version or access your own downloads from your list of old purchases.
Sitka’s website and SoloPine’s website are closed. Solopine.com’s domaine was sold in July, 2024.
What to do with an old SoloPine WordPress theme?
The good news is that apart from the particular case of Sitka, SoloPine’s other WordPress themes have been relatively stable for years, even with the rare updates offered by the team before 2020. And this although WordPress updates are published regularly .
However, it is of course recommended not to keep a theme that is no longer maintained for too long . For security as well as to allow your WP website to benefit from functionalities that follow the latest web standards or so that the design meets the latest WP requirements.
For my part, before the announcement of the cessation of the WP theme creation activity of the SP team, I changed the theme of the blogs which I own because precisely, no updates were proposed anymore for the Solo Pine themes I had (Florence, Redwood). I preferred not to take any security risks. I also switched to several other themes including Blocksy Pro.
SoloPine’s Ticksy website is closed since 2024.
What to choose after SOLOPINE?
The choice of personal blog oriented WordPress themes is very vast. Without there being a question of having a page builder or being obliged to opt for the use of WP blocks. So don’t hesitate to browse the WordPress Premium designs market at Envato or at Elegant Themes. Even if i would prefer Blocksy Pro for my part. Or OceanWP Pro.
You can also observe the free market, but which is very often quickly limited in terms of customization options.
Still, it is not recommended to stay for years and years with WordPress themes that are no longer followed at all or still maintained, even if only once a year or following an update. major day of WordPress.
Note in passing that given the popularity of SoloPine for almost 10 years, many competitors began to offer very similar WP designs. It is therefore quite easy to find recent and maintained equivalents.
Here are some sources to find very good and stuning WordPress themes :
- Blocksy
- Soledad
- Smartmag
- Divi
- Extra (via Elegant themes )
- Elementor (pro or free)
I can also suggest designs very close to those of Solopine which I have used for a long time on several websites that belong to me and which, like you, I have had to replace.
