ElegantThemes – Essential resources for WordPress

Elegant Themes is one of the WordPress theme publishers that has stood the test of time and become an established name. So much so that some freelancers working with WordPress even suggest to their clients that they use Elegant Themes products (such as DIVI), because they are so convinced of the stability and quality of the products on offer. So what about Elegant Themes?

What can you find at ElegantThemes? Plugins or even WordPress themes? Let’s find out today!

ElegantThemes for WordPress Themes and Plugins

Divi the ElegantThemes WordPress Theme Builder

ElegantThemes‘ very popular flagship product (referred to here as ET) is Divi. What is Divi? Divi is what’s known as a builder, in other words a turnkey tool that lets you design almost your entire WordPress site, thanks to some very advanced configuration elements. And when I say that these elements are very advanced, that’s hardly strong enough to indicate how much you can really customise the design of your site (or blog).

The best way to get an idea of the product is to try it out. As it happens, ElegantThemes offers a demo site where you can test Divi’s strength and infinite customisation options.

Plugins

Several plugins are widely promoted at Elegant Themes. These are Bloom and Monarch. These are 100% Elegant Themes plugins that I’d like you to discover below:

Bloom

Bloom is quite simply a plugin that lets you display newsletter sign-up forms on your WordPress site with great flexibility. The idea is to capture as many email addresses as possible to grow your mailing list.

Monarch

Monarch would appear to be the ultimate plugin for managing share buttons on social networks. No fewer than 20 social networks are involved and integrated. These include the ever-popular Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger…

Extra another WP elegant themes

Extra is one of the ET team’s flagship themes. With its focus on content and magazines, it is ideal for bloggers and web journals:

I had the opportunity to use Extra for a first version as part of a website migration and then webdesign on this site. The WordPress theme is really nice but it still lacks flexibility in some features.

Purchase models

When it comes to purchasing Divi, there are two options for accessing Divi resources and updates.

You can choose between :

  • an annual purchase/subscription (currently at $87 per year)
  • or a lifetime purchase (for us French-speakers, this is an unusual and uncommon enough model for it to be of interest). The ‘lifetime’ purchase is $247, payable in one go.

During the Black Friday period, it’s not uncommon to find the lifetime offer at around 187 or 190 euros.

That can be quite a budget. However, the reason why so many WordPress freelancers and freelance webmasters use DIVI is that you can use it on as many sites and blogs as you like. This makes a huge difference to a premium pro theme that you’d find at Themeforest. At Themeforest, a theme purchased once is equivalent to a licence. A licence logically allows you to run this WP theme on just one site. So even though buying Divi (for life) can represent a large outlay of money, over time it can quickly pay for itself. In any case, it’s more profitable than repeatedly buying various themes from Themeforest.

ElegantThemes’s Blog

The ElegantThemes Blog is in English. And it’s a very accessible English. And what can I say except that it covers pretty much everything to do with WordPress from near and far. I subscribed to it back in 2014, I think, so that I’d get all the alerts as soon as a new article went live. As it turns out, I’ve been a subscriber ever since because the articles are interesting and very varied. It’s a great way to learn about WordPress when and if you’re just starting out, but also to keep an eye on the WP ecosystem.

Many of the articles relate directly to the Divi Builder, to promote the builder or Divi-related resources. However, there are also articles focusing directly on WP or entrepreneurship. In short, a great source of information if you want to read about WP or even pro-oriented webmastering and blogging.

Very good, fast technical support from Elegant Themes

Whether on a personal basis or for my clients’ websites, I’ve used the Elegant Themes team’s technical support service about 5 or 6 times. And here’s what I can say about Elegant Themes support:

  • Chat answers are quick and efficient
  • 2 times out of 3, the answer fixes the bug or meets the immediate need.
  • It’s very often humans who answer. Friendly and courteous.

In short, my feedback after several experiences with Elegant Themes support is very positive. I’d heard it before but I was able to check it out for myself. So, if this is a question likely to make you opt for DIVI or one of the other flagship products from Elegant Themes, you can rest assured.

Pros and cons of Elegant Themes

Pros of Elegant Themes :

  1. Versatile Themes : The Divi theme offers extensive customization with a powerful visual builder, making it suitable for a wide range of websites. Many people use Divi. And this is also true for many WordPress professionals as freelancers (webdesigners…)
  2. User-Friendly : Drag-and-drop interface simplifies design, even for beginners.
  3. Comprehensive Support: Excellent customer support and extensive documentation.
  4. Regular Updates : Updates are not frequent but are regular. They ensure compatibility with the latest WordPress versions and security patches.
  5. Value for Money : Access to multiple themes and plugins with a single subscription. This model convinces many clients. Even if price can be seen as expensive for low budgets.

Cons of Elegant Themes :

  1. Learning Curve : Despite the intuitive interface, mastering all features can take time. Sometimes, it takes too much time for beginners…
  2. Performance Issues : Overly complex designs can sometimes impact site speed. Even if Divi is used with WP Rocket or other very powerful WordPress caches.
  3. Subscription Model : Requires ongoing payments for continued access to updates and support. unless you opt for the lifetime offer.
  4. Customization Limitations: While highly customizable, some specific design elements may still require custom CSS or coding. Sometimes for lite features such as tags…

Elegant Themes provides a robust and flexible solution for WordPress users, but it might require some time investment, money investment to fully utilize its capabilities.

Conclusion

The reliability and excellent reputation that Elegant Themes has built up over the years make it a must-have resource in the WordPress world. A very good reason to linger over this shop of WP themes, builders and plugins when you have a website creation or redesign project!

I know and often use Divi and Elegant Themes when my clients already have it on their websites. But if i had to chose, i would use WordPress like Blocksy Pro.
