With classic editor in WordPress, content is mainly displayed in an editorial way. You write content from top to bottom. With or without some media files. Images, photos and perhaps embeded videos. But with native Blocks, you can take your content to an other level.
You can add a real webdesign to each post and/or page. You can add Covers. You can create real layouts that will change or not accordingly to your subjects or categories.
Blocks are a real way to obtain designs for content that you can’t have with Classic editor. For real.

If you want to use blocks but are afraid that it will be complex and time-consuming, don’t worry. Because you can convert your WordPress content with a click :

Once again, WordPress blocks have evolved to make our lives easier. Some pages are very similar. So, to save time, you can copy all the blocks at once. There’s a feature that lets you duplicate entire pages and posts. Beware of duplicate content, of course ! This is particularly useful for page layouts, and less so for pure content writing.
No need to add plugins to duplicate your layouts or contents or covers 🙂
The use of blocks can be complemented by plugins and themes
Many people use WP blocks for writing, but not for page layout. Because these people find that blocks are too limited. Too crude. Indeed, they can be criticized for being a little too minimalist if you compare their functionality with that of famous builders like Elementor.
But if you find the layout features of Gutenberg blocks too limited, you can extend them with WordPress plugins and/or themes. Here are just a few examples of plugins that are perfect for extending the functions of WP blocks:
- Stackable
- GreenShift
And you can surely have more and more with Gutenberg Blocks with themes such as :
- Blocksy Pro ou Bloscksy free
- Kadence
No more excuses! You can use the blocks and complete the job with a WP plugin or theme.
