I am excited to announce the launch of YesWeBlog’s English version, marking a new chapter in its journey. After more than a decade and 780+ posts, the blog is expanding to reach a larger audience. Starting this summer 2024, many pages and posts will be translated from French to English, offering more users access to the tutorials and other stuffs. Why an english version of YesWeBlog ?
Language is not a barrier
The site has remained French-speaking for 10 years. And these 10 years spent keeping this website alive motivate me not to make this single language a barrier. The addition of an English version of YesWeBlog is an opening to the outside world and in this case, to the English-speaking audience.

That’s also why i wanted to offer a multilingual site. Tutorials are now available in french and english. Some of them will be translated soon. Since WordPress is used by people all over the world, it makes sense to offer our content in multiple languages to serve diverse audience. To share experiences through comments and so on.
I spend a lot of time reading forums where people share about WordPress troubleshootings. About what they’d like to see in WordPress for the future… And as you can imagine, it’s most of time in english. Like when i ask help or write to some teams supports. They come from all over the world. And they write in english 🙂

Will 100% of the French content be translated into English?
In a perfect world, That would be the goal. But i’ll start with the most popular topics (WordPress here). Some of them are already translated.
Is it easy for a beginner to create a multilingual WordPress site ?
Yes, thanks to plugins like Polylang (with free or pro version) or WPML, to create a multilingual WordPress site is easier than with other CMS. That’s also why i decided to offer an english version of YeWeBlog.

By utilizing specialized plugins and themes, you can easily manage different language versions of your content, including translations, menus, and custom post types. With careful planning and implementation, you can create a seamless multilingual experience for your users.
How long will it take to create the English version?
It’s a lot of work, as you can imagine. But the English version is already here. It’s not as finished as i’d like, but it’s a start. It’s a great adventure and it’s fun to create. That’s also why i wanted to try this new challenge ! Perhaps il will take a year, but there’s no problem with this 🙂
